HORIZON/COMPASS Attitude / Heading Indicators
Meet the World’s most lightweight and compact, fully integrated inertial measurement instruments (IMU’s) and digital compasses.
We combine the most advanced and miniaturized components for magnetic field and intertial measurement in a compact format weighing in at less than 150 grams.
We use our AV-2 airtalk computer, a Stratomaster Maxi Single programmed with an application program that lets you choose what you want to display. Horizon, Turn & Bank, or a compass - as you wish, and each mode has options and additional, useful functions.
The display options depend on the attitude / heading sensor package you select...
Attitude/Heading Sensors:
Depending on what attitude / heading sensor packages you choose, you will have the following features on your instrument:
|
|
|
|
SP-2 Sensor: Tilt-compensated magnetic compass
|
SP-4 Sensor: Attitude indication and turn/bank indication
|
|
What else can you do?
With the SP-4 and SP-2 sensor packages you can add additional AV-2 Maxi Singles (or even 2.25” AV-1 Smart Singles) for separate Compass and Turn/Slip Indicators.
Or how about one SP-4 and one SP-2 unit and six AV-2 displays? Yes, you can have two Horizons, two Turn/Slips and two Compasses all at the same time. Makes a dual cockpit layout interesting...

MAP-1 Manifold Pressure Indicator The MAP-1 is a precision pressure gauge that can measure pressures in the range from 0.25 bars (3.6 PSI) to 2.5 bars (36.2 PSI). Pressure can be displayed in units of millibar, bar, PSI, Kg/cm2, inches of Mercury, millimeters of Mercury, kilopascal (KPa) or atmospheres. The MAP-1 is primarily intended for use as a manifold pressure gauge, however, due to the universal nature of this accurate instrument it can be used for many other applications as well, including:
Engine manifold pressure, Turbo boost pressure, Barometer, fuel or oil pressure gauge (with additional isolation kit), pressure reference, airfoil research and testing.

33V High speed / High power transorb. This device is recommended to be used to protect any electronic devices connected to an aircraft’s power supply. The device works by clamping the v oltage to a maximum of 33V. It can do this in a matter of a few billionths of a second and it can, for a short time, withstand a very large amount of power. We recommend that a single device is fitted to incoming power for the aircraft’s instrument panel, following a fuse or circuit breaker. This device can protect any instrument including intercoms and radios. We include a sheet giving recommended placement of this device.

Please note: All Stratomaster instruments now have transorbs built into their circuitry. These can still be used to protect other avionics.

10,000uF Electrolytic Capacitor This 10,000uF electrolytic capacitor is an inexpensive and useful addition to your aircraft’s power supply. It can significantly reduce noise signals on your power supply that may be affecting your VHF radio, such as ignition noise or rectifier/regulator noise artifacts.
Note: The capacitor must be installed as close as possible to the noise source, in parallel (across the + and - of the power supply going to the noise source), with very short leads for maximum effect.
